Overview
The Overview tab in a project provides a financial summary of estimated values of a project rolled up by resource or top-level task. You can use the tables in this tab to get a quick look at the estimated hours, estimated fees, estimated margin, and other information per resource or per top-level task.
The Overview tab is especially useful when a project is in the Estimate stage. You can see a financial summary that updates in real-time as you make changes to resources, hours, and rates. When you’re ready to provide a proposal to your client, you can easily configure the tables to show only the information you want to share, then export the data and add it to your proposal.
The Overview tab is available to users with the Project Administrator, Edit Financials, or View Financials project permission. To see cost information, you must also have the the Report Viewer with Cost account permission or above.
Summary Bar
At the top of the Overview tab is the Summary Bar, which displays a summary of the total resource estimated hours, cost, fees, and other information.
To learn more, see the Summary Bar Overview article.
