Overview
The filters in Kantata OX allow you to see only the information you are interested in and hide the rest. The Filters modal is where you select all the fields and values for the filter. Using the Filters modal, you can combine various elements (fields and values) to create a filter that fits your needs. For example, you may want to view only resources who are participating on specific projects in the Resource Center, see critical task deadlines in the Task Tracker, or view notifications from a specific set of projects.
To open the Filters modal, click the Filters button, which typically appears in the toolbar.
Filters are not persistent—which means that if you log out or leave the page and then return, Kantata does not remember or reapply your filter selections. However, where Saved Views are available, you can save various combinations of filter settings. This is especially useful if you frequently apply the same filters or switch between multiple filter options to get to the information you need.
You can also pin specific filters that you use frequently so that they always appear in the toolbar. When you pin filters, they display next to any applied filters and don’t have any values selected by default.
The Filters modal is currently available in the following areas:
- Boards
- Expense Approvals
- Notifications
- Task Tracker
- Project History
- Project Overview
- Rate Cards
- Recent History
- Resource Center
- Project Resourcing
Accessibility
The Filters modal has been designed to support keyboard-only navigation, improving accessibility to assist power users as well as those with disabilities.
Filters Modal
The Filters modal is where you select all the fields and values for the filter. The modal is divided into three sections:
- Fields—The Fields section (the left pane) contains all the available filter types. The options available will vary depending on where you are in Kantata. To learn which filter types are available in a specific area, reference the article for that area.
- Values—The Values section (the middle pane) populates a list of values that you can select. This section changes based on selections in the Fields section. For example, in the Resource Center, if you select Roles as the field type, the middle section is titled Roles and all the roles on the account are available to select.
- Applied Filters—The Applied Filters section (the right pane) contains all the values you've selected for your filters. You can select the Clear icon to the right of a value to remove it or select Clear All to remove all values. ”)
Use the Search fields at the top of the Fields and Values sections to quickly locate a specific field type or value. This is a reductive search that narrows what you currently have available to choose from.
