Managing Expertise Insights Users

Overview

There are several aspects that affect access to Expertise Insights and dashboards:

• License—Users must have an Expertise Insights license. Users can be provisioned and deprovisioned in Insights > Manage Users.
• Share dashboard—Authors can share dashboards with groups or individual users via the Share icon on a dashboard.
• Expertise Insights Access Group set—This permission controls who can go into Insights > Manage Users and manage user groups and data access settings.

Manage Users Page

The Manage Users page includes the following sections:

• License Usage—How many licenses are being used for each license types.
• Provision User—In this section, you can provision licenses for new users.
• Users tab—This tab shows licensed users. You can deprovision users from this tab.

How to Provision a New User

1. In the left navigation, hover over Insights, then select Manage Users.
2. On the Users page, enter an email address in the Add New User section.
3. Select a License Type:
   • Reader—Can view and interact with dashboards.
   • Reader Pro—Same as Reader, plus has access to advanced generative BI capabilities.
   • Author—Can create analyses, dashboards, and visuals to visualize and analyze data; can manage datasets and topics; and can create stories.
   • Author Pro—Same as Author, plus has access to advanced generative BI capabilities.
4. Click Add User. The user is added to the table below.
