Overview
The Kantata OX Salesforce integration gives you the ability to automatically create projects for Salesforce Opportunity objects once the Opportunity reaches a certain stage.
Note: Kantata OX was previously called "Mavenlink". There are still references to Mavenlink throughout the Salesforce Connector. You will see less of these references as our team begins updating them.
How to Configure Salesforce to Create Kantata OX Projects
- Log in to Salesforce.
- Select the Mavenlink Configuration tab. The Mavenlink Package Configuration page opens.
- Select the Opportunity-Level Project Settings subtab and then click Edit.
- In the Project Creation section, select the Opportunity Stage Values that will trigger a Kantata OX project to be created.
Note: To select more than one stage, hold down the Control key on your keyboard and click each desired option.Note: If there are fields already selected for stages of Opportunities with products/OLIs, leave them selected.
- Click Save.
How to Test the Configuration
To test that the configuration was set up correctly, you can create a test Opportunity that matches your configurations and then confirm that the Kantata OX project was automatically created.
Part 1: Create a New Opportunity
- Log in to Salesforce.
- Select the Opportunities tab.
- In the top-right corner of the Opportunities page, click New. The New Opportunity modal opens.
- Enter the Opportunity Name and select a Close Date.
- Select the Stage that you configured Kantata OX projects to be created for.
- Click Save. The test opportunity is created.
- Proceed to Part 2 of the testing process.
Part 2: Locate the New Project
- In Salesforce, select the Mavenlink Projects tab.
- If needed, click the arrow in the top-left corner of the screen and then click a list view to adjust which projects appear in the list.
Note: You can also search for the project by using the the Search box on the right side of the page.
- Locate the test project in the list. If it doesn't appear, please repeat the project configuration steps above.
