Requirements
The integration between Kantata OX and Salesforce is set up through Salesforce and managed by Kantata OX. To configure the Mavenlink Connector in your Salesforce account, you'll need a Salesforce Enterprise Edition account with Salesforce Administrator privileges.
You can also create a free Salesforce Developer account to test the basic integration. Please note this may not include all the integration features found in an Enterprise account. If you need help creating a Salesforce account, please contact the Salesforce support team.
In Salesforce
Salesforce allows you to use two different UIs. Select your UI to see the applicable instructions:
Lightning UI
- Make sure the account is Enterprise Edition.
- Click on the gear icon and open the Setup page.
Note: See Explore the Salesforce Setup Menu for more details. - In the Quick Find box, search for
Company
. - Click Company Information.
The Salesforce Edition is listed in the Organization Edition field.
- Click on the gear icon and open the Setup page.

Make sure a Salesforce Adapter is installed before you integrate Kantata OX and Salesforce. If you are still in the implementation stage, this should already be completed by Kantata OX's Technical Services.
To see if an adapter is installed:
- Click Setup.
- In the Quick Find box, search for
Installed Packages
. - Click on Installed Packages, and look for the Mavenlink for Salesforce package.
If an adapter is not installed, contact Kantata Support for the latest installation link.

Once you have the installation link address, navigate to it in a new tab.
- Select Install for All Users.
- Click Install. A request to access the Kantata OX application and API displays. This is required to start the installation process.
- Select Yes, grant access to these third-party websites, and click Continue. The installation process begins.
Note: If you do not grant access, the Continue button remains disabled and you are unable to continue the installation.
- When the installation is complete, switch back to Salesforce. The Mavenlink Connector appears in the App Menu.
You can click View All to see all Apps, or use the search bar to find the Mavenlink Connector. - Check Installed Packages to verify the version that is installed.
- Click Setup.
Classic UI
- Make sure the account is Enterprise Edition.
- Navigate to Setup.
See Explore the Salesforce Setup Menu for more details. - In the Quick Find box, search for
Company
.
- Click Company Information.
The Salesforce Edition is listed in the Organization Edition field.
- Navigate to Setup.

How to Configure the Mavenlink Connector
There are 2 parts to configuring the Mavenlink Connector in Salesforce.
Integration Options Settings
- Log in to Salesforce.
- If you have not configured the Mavenlink Connector before, navigate to the App Menu in the upper right corner and select Mavenlink Connector.
Note: In the Lightning UI, the App Menu can be found in the upper left corner. - Navigate to Mavenlink Configuration > Integration Options.
- Click Edit.
- Make sure the following are enabled:
- Under Processing Control, make sure Enable Opportunity Processing and Enable Feed Processing are both selected.
- Under Synchronization Settings, make sure Sync Posts is selected.
- Click Save. You are now ready to configure the Authentication Settings.
Authentication Settings

Authenticate the connection between Kantata OX and Salesforce.
- Navigate to Mavenlink Configuration > Authentication Settings.
- Copy the Redirect URI.
- Open a new tab.
- Navigate to Kantata OX.
- Log in to Kantata OX.
- Register a new application in Mavenlink using the copied Redirect URI from Salesforce as the Application Callback URI.
- Switch back to the Salesforce tab.
- Click Start.
- Enter authentication details:
- Account Name — Whatever you want to call this connector.
- Client Id — The Mavenlink Application ID in the registered Mavenlink application.
- Client Secret — The Secret Token in the registered Mavenlink application.
- Once the details are entered, click Authorize API (Step 1).
You are redirected to a Mavenlink OAuth Authorization page. - Click Authorize to enable access to Kantata OX. You will be directed back to the Authentication Settings page in Salesforce.
- Click Connect API (Step 2).
The status of the account is now Connected.
How to Test the Integration
You can test the integration by manually creating a sample project in Salesforce and checking whether it syncs in Kantata OX.
- Log in to Salesforce.
- Click the Mavenlink Configuration tab, then select the Mavenlink Projects tab.
- Click New to manually create a project.
- Enter the required information. By default, only a Title and Project Title are needed, but this can vary by setup.
- Title — The name of the project in Salesforce.
- Project Title — The name of the project in Kantata OX.
- Click Save. The test project is now created.
- Refresh the browser webpage. If the setup is successful, a value is displayed for the Mavenlink URl field. If no value is displayed, please repeat the authentication steps.
- Navigate to Kantata OX and look for the new project. If the project was successfully created, you are now ready to use the integration. If the project was not created successfully, repeat the authentication and testing steps again.
