Overview
Task statuses allow you to quickly communicate the progress of a task. If you have permission to view or edit tasks, you can view or update statuses from the following places in Kantata OX:
- Task side panel
- Task Tracker
- Global Tasks Tracker
- Boards
- Gantt
The following statuses are available for tasks by default:
Task Status | Color | |
---|---|---|
•NS |
Not Started | Grey |
•ST |
Started | Green |
•NI |
Need Information | Red |
•CO |
Completed | Blue |
NOTE
There are a few actions you can take on tasks that will automatically update task statuses:
- Updating the percent on a task with a Not Started status type changes the status to Started.
- Changing the percent to 0% on any task changes the status to Not Started.
- Adding time to a task with a Not Started status type changes the status to Started.
- Changing the percent complete of any task to 100% changes the status to Completed. Inversely, changing to a Completed status type updates the percentage to 100%.
- Making any of the above changes to a subtask or updating the status on a subtask will also affect the status of a parent task.
For Premier and Enterprise plans, these statuses appear on all task types and you can add custom task statuses that can appear alongside them.
For all other plans, any tasks with the issue task type will have a completely separate set of statuses only available for issues that do not include these 4 default statuses.
Custom Task Statuses
An Account Administrator can create custom task statuses in the account settings. Other account members can also be given access to view or manage task status sets. After they’ve been set up, these sets can be applied to projects.
Each custom task status will have a status type, which matches the 4 default statuses outlined above. You can determine the status type of a custom task status based on its color—grey, green, red, or blue.
Issue Statuses
Plans that do not have the Task Status Sets feature available have a separate set of statuses for issues:
Task Status | Color | |
---|---|---|
•NW |
New | Grey |
•RO |
Reopened | Grey |
•IP |
In Progress | Green |
•BL |
Blocked | Red |
•FX |
Fixed | Yellow |
•DU |
Duplicate | Blue |
•CR |
Can't Reproduce | Blue |
•RD |
Resolved | Blue |
•WF |
Won't Fix | Blue |
