Overview
The Resourcing Assistant surfaces potential risks to timelines and financials, analyzes project and resource data, and completes complex resourcing tasks from simple explanations—making resource and risk management easier than ever.
The Resourcing Assistant can:
- Perform bulk actions not available in the UI, such as creating or updating assignments or allocations for all resources
- Surface risks around budgets, scheduling, and staffing
- Clean up resourcing data as work gets confirmed, shifted, or completed
- Align resourcing data as team members join or leave the project, dates shift, or work gets completed
- Identify where action is needed and suggest next steps
- Create and update data for you, such as creating allocations, distributing hours, assigning resources to tasks, and more
- Search project data to answer your questions

For the best results, the following information should be available and up-to-date on the account:
- Allocated hours
- Scheduled hours
- Project start and due dates
- Task start and due dates
- Bill rates

- Custom field values for users and resources

Using the Resourcing Assistant
The Resourcing Assistant has a conversational interface that you interact with via natural language. You can select a suggested prompt to quickly start a conversation or type your message in the message field.
Once you’ve sent a message, the Resourcing Assistant may take a few moments to reply. You may close the modal while the Resourcing Assistant is working but must remain within Resource Center, otherwise your conversation will be erased.
You can rate the Resourcing Assistant’s responses and share feedback via the Good response
and Bad response buttons. This feedback goes directly to the Kantata team and helps us improve the Assistant’s responses.To view the suggested prompts, select the Help
icon in the upper-right of the modal.Ask the Resourcing Assistant to “show me what you can do” for detailed information about what data it has access to, what actions it can take, and additional prompt suggestions.
TIP
- Be as clear and specific in your messages as possible.
- Your organization may use terminology that differs from the terminology within Kantata (e.g. referring to projects as engagements). For the best results, use Kantata terminology with the Resourcing Assistant.
