How to Authenticate Using a Jira API Token
- Log in to https://start.atlassian.com.
Note: Be sure to log in as the Jira integration user you have configured in the Services > Jira sections of the M-Bridge platform. - In the Switch to section on the homepage, click Account settings to open the Profile and visibility page.
- At the top of the page, click the Security tab.
- Under the API token section on the Security page, click Create and manage API tokens.
- At the top of the API Tokens page, click Create API token.
- In the Create an API token modal that opens, enter a Label for the new token and then click Create.
- In the Your new API token dialog, click Copy. Paste the token in an external document and save it for future use.
Note: Do not close the modal without first copying the API token as you will not be able to view the token again. - In a new browser tab, log in to M-Bridge.
- From the Mavenlink Integrations header, select Account and then Services from the drop-down that appears.
- On the Services page, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the Jira service and then select Edit.
- On the Jira Services page, enter the Jira integration user's email address in the Email field.
- In the Token field, paste the API token you previously copied from Jira.
Note: If you are using an On premise Jira server, tokens are not supported. You must fill out the username and password and leave the Email field blank. Entering an email will generate a Jira error during synchronization.
- When you are finished updating these sections, click Save.
- To make sure M-Bridge can connect, click the Test button located to the right of the Jira Service in the Services section.
